Animal Testing

ANIMAL TESTING

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves
Testing on animals for cosmetic and toiletry use leaves me as confused as this puppy. It's fair to say that this practice should be banned worldwide for such a petty and unnecessary industry. And most people are in agreement with this, but not all know how to ensure their personal routine is cruelty free.
The EU banned the sales of animal testing cosmetic products back in 2013, however loopholes in these regulations means that cruelty free brands can still be owned by larger companies who still use animals in their testing processes. Such companies often have factories residing in China and the US. Millions of animals are still experiencing painful and unnecessary procedures every year worldwide just for us to have the nicest shade of lipstick or the best colour preserving shampoo.

But you don't have to contribute to such horrors. Here you will find the guidance that will help you to become cruelty free!
Trust me, to be able to have that shower or do your make-up without that sinking feeling of guilt is rather wonderful.

A product displaying any of these logos has passed the Cruelty Free standard which essentially means that the company and its suppliers do not test on animals throughout all stages of product development. And to reassure you even more, any company commitments are renewed annually, meaning they cannot slip back into using cruel testing processes.

Also! Some companies are certified cruelty free but do not display the logo at all. This is due to an associated fee to display the bunny logo.

To find out which companies are cruetly free (with or without the little bunny) check out this handy little database I found.
Look out for any of these logos to easily identify cruelty free products! All mean exactly the same but each are found more commonly in different countries.
It is important to mention that if you see the Vegan symbol this does not necessarily mean a product is cruelty free - only that it contains no animal products such as beeswax. If you can get both a vegan and a bunny symbol then you're doing stupendously!
Happy Shopping!
Cruelty free guide
So you may have taken a look at some databases and been a little bit daunted - I know I certainly was!

There are so many cruelty free companies out there but often they are ones that no one has ever heard of before and usually their products must be bought online. This can take a little more effort but I still highly encourage you to invest in these organisations.

However, I do sympathise with you lazy beans. Below you will find a quick guide to help you find the easy and accessible cruelty free products in your everyday retail stores.
